There’s no way to sugar coat this, so we’re just going to say it. After six years of being partnered with White Wolf Entertainment, Paradox Interactive ended our contract using the World of Darkness IP.
Our partnership was announced at GenCon 2018 during one of White Wolf's panels. We started off a little slow as we got our bearings working on the worldwide stage, with many exhaustive nights making sure we kept up with orders. Then the pandemic hit in early 2020, which surprisingly did not impact us as much as we were expecting. While badge sales took a considerable dive, the other products made up the difference.
Then in 2022 when live games picked up again, the surge began. The glassware trickled down over time, but badges had considerable momentum, increasing year after year until the very end (oh, especially the very end! We had dozens of orders with multiple badges each).
While we had pitched many new items after learning new techniques with our laser equipment, Paradox did not go along with those ideas and instead decided not to renew our contract.
Both of us want to thank you all for shopping with Rusted Icon Designs since we launched on that fateful day in August 2018. We appreciate your business and enthusiasm for our products, and look forward to bringing you our other crafty ideas in the future.
We would also like to thank White Wolf Entertainment, especially Jason Carl and Dhaunae De Vir, for giving us this dream of an opportunity to play with the ‘Big Kids’. It was truly a wild, one-of-a-kind ride.
